Do I Treat Temporary Help as Independent Contractors or Employees?
Small business owners may need temporary help here and there. As such, some owners may be inclined to treat the temporary or intermittent help as independent contractors because it may be cheaper. However, the IRS or EDD will reclassify an independent contractor as an employee if the worker does not pass the “smell test,” even if there is a contract in place.
Attend the next event and learn:
- What is the smell test (who qualifies as an independent contractor)
- The risks if you don’t pass the test
- About leased employees
Please RSVP with Michael Neuendorff if you would like to attend, by calling 650.373.2022
