myself to do so. But it's also a function of how much time one has, and
given my schedule it's a surprise that I even write once in a while :-)

Personally I only tweet and fb share my posts. Initially I tried some of the other things you mention here, however I quickly realized that it isn't my "thing". I don't have the temperament/patience to do that part, and while it might sound like I am being lazy or not putting in enough effort, I think my time is better spent elsewhere. if I feel that I want to leave a comment on another blog, I do, but I don't do it just to get traffic back. I like to focus on putting out great posts (and improving with time), and that in itself requires research and a lot of time, and I simply do not have enough time to do the rest. Twitter and Facebook serve me fairly well (return to effort ratio is good; not to mean that I get a lot of traffic/comments). Mike, I agree with most points here.
