Thanks for your clarification. Now we know that neither of us likes to pander for comments! You bring up a good point that if it feels like work to go out and comment on other blogs you probably won't like to do it. Thus, you should focus on developing great content and getting the word out about it. Thanks, again for your perspective.

I didn't mean to imply that you implied that, nor I thought that you did.
However for me at least, since I am generally not the kind of person who
would comment on blogs (except only once in a while), I couldn't force
myself to do so. But it's also a function of how much time one has, and
given my schedule it's a surprise that I even write once in a while :-)

I only tweet once. May be more than once if I am referring to my post in
another context.

Saad, Appreciate your comments. I certainly don't want to imply that one should comment on other blogs just to get comments back, but rather to suggest that by thoughtfully commenting on other blogs you'll probably get some reciprocation, which is always appreciated. Nice to see that Facebook and Twitter are working for you. How many times will you tweet a post?

Mike, I agree with most points here. Personally I only tweet and fb share my posts. Initially I tried some of the other things you mention here, however I quickly realized that it isn't my "thing". I don't have the temperament/patience to do that part, and while it might sound like I am being lazy or not putting in enough effort, I think my time is better spent elsewhere. if I feel that I want to leave a comment on another blog, I do, but I don't do it just to get traffic back. I like to focus on putting out great posts (and improving with time), and that in itself requires research and a lot of time, and I simply do not have enough time to do the rest. Twitter and Facebook serve me fairly well (return to effort ratio is good; not to mean that I get a lot of traffic/comments).
