My coaching practice, The Growth Coach, is about guiding business owners to new heights of success professionally and personally. Other coaches may focus mainly on the personal side aka life coaching or mainly on the professional side, i.e., pure business coaching, but me, I focus on both sides.
The reason I do is because I don't believe in succeeding in business by sacrificing your personal life. That's hollow success, which often leads to failed relationships and deep regrets. I can't support a quest that is headed for that eventuality. I actually tell prospective clients that if they are looking to succeed by sacrificing their personal life, then I'm not the coach for them.
Of course, I do understand that business ownership comes with some level of sacrifice and relationships, exercise regimens and leisurely pursuits will suffer a bit. I'm not in disagreement with that. Indeed I'm living that reality! As long as your perspective is that after times of intense work, there will be some downtime to relax, recharge and focus on personal matters, then you're in good shape. And, I can fully support that.
That's basically my philosophy behind my blog and newsletter entitled Build and Balance. Build your business; balance your life. Succeed on both sides of your life and feel really fulfilled.
